2006-PresentPortfolio - AlpenkammerMusik
AlpenKammerMusik was founded in the summer of 2006 between myself, my wife and two friends who are professional pianists in New York City. The idea was to form a chamber music festival for amateur chamber musicians from all over the world that come to the small remote town of Liesing in the south of Austria, high up in the Austrian Alps. The 10 day festival is a time of intense rehearsals, master classes, lessons, and concerts as well as a time to hike and take in cultural history in the surrounding areas. I serve as its co-director along with my wife, where I am responsible for student recruitment, budgetary planning, faculty travel planning and so many other things.
In addition to the activites mentioned above, I alone design and manage the festival website, a key tool in both recruiting students from around the world as well as communicating information with those that plan on attending in the summer. The website has been coded, designed and maintained by myself since the festival. In addition to the festival website, I also do all the graphic design that is required for the festival. Each festival requires advertizing posters to be posted in the area as well as brochures to be mailed out to prospective students and regular newsletters. I am currently in the process of redesigning the festival website.
AlpenKammerMusik is also now in the early stages of starting a second festival for conservatory level students from around the world.
